Michael Young Top 6 since 1974

Tom Grieve & Josh Lewin had an interesting stat at the start of the game today. Michael Young has a career .336 average with runners in scoring position ranking him #6 in the major leagues since 1974. WOW. A couple of names that are ahead of him include Tony Gwynn, Rod Carew, & Ichiro Suzuki. Nice company. The Rangers lost tonight to the Orioles and Erik Bedard. Bedard faced only 27 batters, gave up 2 hits, had 2 double plays, and struck out 15. He definately had no hit stuff and breezed through this game. McCarthy pitched good, giving up 1 earned run in 6 innings on a homerun. He drives me crazy the way he keeps his pitches up in the strikezone. The slightest mistake and the ball is over the fence. McCarthy has given up a homerun every 5.86 innings in his career, significantly worse than every other Ranger pitcher. Here is the rundown:
  1. McCarthy 1 homerun every 5.86 innings
  2. Mahay 1:7.35
  3. Benoit 1:7.38,
  4. Tejeda 1:7.91
  5. Erye 1:7.94
  6. Wilson 1:8.73
  7. Wright 1:8.90
  8. Gagne 1:9.07
  9. Millwood 1:9.53
  10. Loe 1:9.74
  11. Francisco 1:11.42
  12. Otsuka gives up 1 homerun every 19.33 innings.

Season Record: 37-50, 16 games behind the Angels.
