4 Game Sweep
The Rangers pulled off a 4 game sweep of the Mariners and now head into KC to take on the Royals for 3. One key to the success of this series was the containment of Ichiro by the Rangers pitchers. Although he had 6 hits in the 4 game series, he had ZERO RBI and left 11 on base. Talk about taking care of business. Ichiro is one of the top 5 hitters with runners on base in the history of the game. Travis Metcalf had a series to remember going 9 for 15 with 4 doubles and a triple. Nothing like raising your BA by nearly 70 points in a series in July. Way to go Rangers. Season Record: 46-56, 13 games behind the California Angels from Anaheim.
