Win Win Situation
The Texas Rangers swept both games of the doubleheader today against the Seattle Mariners. The Rangers have not swept a doubleheader since June 10, 2004 against the Pirates. Game 1 starter John Rheinecker pitched 7 innings and gave up no earned runs and 1 run overall. He allowed 6 hits, 1 walk, and struckout 4. Game 2 starter Kam Loe pitched 6.2 innings giving up 3 runs, 7 hits, and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts. Loe had good stuff and almost had only 1 run given up but a questionable foul tip call in the 5th gave the Mariners another chance in which they scored 2 runs immediately after the "foul" tip call. CJ Wilson got the win in game 2 and Eric Gagne saved both 1 run games to comeback strong from last night. At the plate, Travis Metcalf had an incredible day going a combined 5 for 7 with 2 doubles and a broken bat triple. These wins bring the Rangers to within 11 games of .500 and a chance to sweep the series tomorrow. Season Record: 45-56, 13 games behind the LA Anaheims.
